Meet the Planned Giving Coach

John Elbare is the founder and Principal Consultant of Florida Philanthropic Advisors, LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in non-profit management and charitable planning.
John has an MBA degree from the University of South Florida, and he holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. John is an instructor and frequent speaker on charitable giving and estate planning topics.
John is a past president of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay Area Planned Giving Council (TBAPGC), and the Suncoast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He speaks throughout the nation to AFP Chapters and Planned Giving Councils, and he has been a featured speaker at the National Planned Giving Conference in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
John works with charitable organizations to help them establish and operate effective fund development and planned giving programs. He also provides planned giving support services, training sessions and retreats for boards of directors, and coaching for development directors and planned giving officers.
John conducts a series of training seminars throughout the year, including his well-known Planned Giving in Plain English seminar. These practical training programs, which are designed to help fund raisers and volunteers start raising major and planned gifts right away, attract attendees from all parts of Florida and many other states.
John is well-known for his periodic PG-COACHING TIPS which are delivered by email to over 900 subscribers, and he writes regularly for the Planned Giving Mentor, a monthly periodical for professional fund raisers who are interested in effective planned gift development. John is the author of the multimedia publications, Donor Seminars That Work and Managing Donated Life Insurance Policies, both available on CD-ROM on this website.
